Copyright & Reports

Our commitment

TonTV respects copyright and other rights. Our catalogue is built from licensed and original content. If you believe something on TonTV infringes your rights or breaks the law, tell us and we will act promptly.

How do I send a copyright notice?

Write to support@tontv.io and include:

  • the work you say has been infringed (title, owner, and proof of ownership if you have it);
  • where it appears in TonTV (series, episode, screen or link);
  • your name, whether you are the owner or an authorised agent, and your address, email and phone number;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
  • a statement that the information is accurate and, where that rule applies and under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner;
  • your signature, physical or electronic.

This process is designed to meet the notice-and-takedown form of the US DMCA, the notice route of the Korean Copyright Act (request to suspend copying or transmission) and the Vietnamese intellectual property law.

What do we do?

We aim to acknowledge a complete notice within 2 business days. If it is valid, we remove or block access to the material quickly and tell the person who supplied it. We have a repeat-infringer policy, and we may close the accounts of users who repeatedly post infringing material.

What if my content was removed by mistake?

Send a counter-notice to the same address with:

  • the material and where it was before it was removed;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake;
  • your name, address and contact details;
  • your agreement to the jurisdiction of the relevant court;
  • your signature.

If the person who complained doesn't tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they have started legal action, we may restore the material.

Other reports

To report content that is illegal, sexually exploits minors or otherwise puts their safety at risk, is hateful or harassing, violates someone's privacy or image, or is otherwise unsafe, use the in-app Report button on a comment, or write to support@tontv.io.

Urgent safety reports get priority, and we act within any deadline the law sets. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

False notices

Sending a notice you know is false can have legal consequences.

Licensing and partnerships

Rights holders who want to license content or work with TonTV can write to support@tontv.io with “Licensing” in the subject line.
